ones!!
THE GRAPE
Soon to be '"The Wine!"
THE LEAF...
Protector of the grape..
INTERTWINED
Grape & Vine,
Love & Wine
intertwine!
"JUST LEAVES"
But oh what leaves they are...
Can all those colors come from the same
palette?
Let alone the same plant?
"THE BEAUTY OF TWO LEAVES"
Who could imagine...?
That moment when the sunlight
graces an ordinary leaf ..
"November Soft"
The November mist softens
the colors of fall....
St.Helena, Ca
Off of Stice Lane
Rattlesnake Acres
Even "Rattlesnake Acres" is beautiful in the fall when Mother Nature does her fall
remodeling...old vines...new colors!!
And like the snake she's named after, Rattlesnake Acres will soon shed her
glorious colors for the muted tones of winter.......
Hwy 29, Calistoga, Ca.

"Harvest Glow"
Like a doting Mother,
the sun peeks in on her
Sleeping children....
I LOVE VINEYARDS....
I LOVE THEM IN THE WINTER, WHEN THE VINES ARE BARE AND STARK AND
THE MUSTARD IS BRIGHT AND YELLOW;
I LOVE THEM IN THE SPRING, WHEN NEW LEAVES ARE SHINY AND GREEN;
I LOVE THEM IN THE SUMMER WHEN THE GRAPES ARE  RIPENING UNDER THE
cALIFORNIA SUN;
I LOVE THEM IN THE FALL WHEN THE AIR IS RICH AND PUNGENT WITH THE
SCENT OF HARVEST AND WITH THEIR LAST DESPERATE BREATH, THEY
BURST FORTH IN A RIOT OF COLOR SO BEAUTIFUL, YOU WILL REMEMBER
THEM ALL WINTER....
I LOVE VINEYARDS!!

always more
coming!
Come back again!
"gold on the trail"
The senses are overwhelmed
by the beauty of a late fall
light show
on the silverado trail in Napa Valley.
"CRANE AVENUE
RASCALS"
They may be old and wizened
But they're young at heart!!
Daring to be different,
Growing with wild
abandonment!!
And those colors!!!
Have you ever.....?
"CRANE AVE SONATA"
i've always been swept away with
the beauty of these old Zin vines on
Crane Ave in St. Helena, Ca.,
Sadly, they have started pulling these wild,
carefree old timers to be replaced by the type
of dull, sterile vines of today.
Held up on wires, pruned to conform,
disease free, maximum yield, puny,
commercially viable
Stumps!
I will miss these rascals!!
"HARVEST DREams"
The grapes,
Ripe, sweet and juicy,
Full bunches
Hanging heavily on the vines
The vines,
A kaleidoscope
of
Colors
The sun,
Warm, bright, loving
Bringing us all together
In a vintners dream!
"OCTOBER GLOW"
The late afternoon sun
Gives it's blessings
To these vines...
They have given their
Bounty to the Harvest..
Now, they rest in Glory!
